Performance exhaust systems aren’t just for cars. Your pick-em-up truck has plenty of power and muscle sound just waiting to be unlocked. MRT exhaust systems for the Chevrolet Silverado are the key you need to open that door. With a high-quality exhaust, your Silverado will roar down the highway with the best of them and still be a great hauling truck when you need it. We’ve spent more than 35 years in automotive engineering and know truck guys care just as much about their rigs being big and loud as car guys do — maybe even more so. You’ll get noticed the moment you press on the gas when you have a handcrafted Silverado exhaust sticking out the back.
We make both Street Performance Series and Badass Series Silverado cat-back exhausts that are designed for fast DIY installation using common hand tools. The MRT Deep & Mellow Exhaust provides a noticeable horsepower boost with a balanced, comfortable sound. If you really want to get loud, the Toughtruck Cat-Back Silverado Exhaust has a deeper, more aggressive muscle tone and even more power to the wheels. Both use a straight-through muffler and large 3-inch tube to reduce flow restrictions when you step on the gas. The T304 stainless steel piping is corrosion-resistant and looks amazing — especially after it’s been polished to a shine.
More than anything, MRT Chevy Silverado exhausts put quality above all else. Every aspect of their production, from design concept to manufacturing, is done in-house at our Plymouth, MI headquarters. Along the way, we engineer each system to match the unique performance DNA of these popular trucks so they don’t sound like any other exhaust on the road. The final product is then inspected at least four times to make sure it meets or exceeds all expectations. This attention to detail is why we’re confident about offering a limited lifetime warranty. Order a polished steel or matte black Silverado exhaust today and hear the difference!
Chevy Silverado FAQs
What is the best exhaust upgrade for your Silverado?
An aftermarket exhaust made in the US from premium materials and designed to reduce exhaust back pressure is the best upgrade for your Silverado. Look for a system made from T304 stainless steel, with mandrel bends and a larger exhaust tube diameter versus stock. The MRT Tough Truck Catback exhaust provides all these benefits so you have upgraded power, performance and fun from your Silverado.
What's the first mod you should make on a Chevy Silverado?
Change the exhaust! It's simple and this mod gives you power and performance. You also get a new exhaust note that let's others know there's a new kid on the block. Look for an exhaust system like the MRT Deep & Mellow Catback so you can hear the exhaust at engine idle and acceleration. If you're looking for the fullest, loudest sound, check out the MRT Tough Truck catback!
How hard is it to install an exhaust on the Chevy Silverado?
Not hard at all. To remove the factory exhaust, unclamp the clamps, remove hangers from the rubber isolators along the exhaust back to the tail pipe area. The OE exhaust will drop in one piece. Then install the new system. If you're installing an MRT catback system that is designed for DIY installation, your next step is to install the flared exhaust tube over the downpipe outlet. Tighten the clamp until snug. Locate the before axle tube and insert to the rod hangers on the outlet side of the muffler. Slide hangers onto factory exhaust isolators. Connect the tail pipe section. Align the exhaust tip; then tighten all band clamps front to rear. Finally, take a test drive to hear the difference!
